IT for Churches & Nonprofits

Tell us about your organization

Small staff, big responsibility.

A church or nonprofit often runs on a few staff members, many volunteers, and a building that is busy at unusual hours. The technology still has to work: office computers, Wi-Fi for guests and staff, a phone line, a printer for bulletins and mailings, and records about members and donors that deserve care. WOLFTRAXX SYSTEMS can help map what is in place, who owns each piece, and what a dependable setup would look like for your size and budget.

What to sort out first

  • Accounts and access. Who has access to email, files, and shared accounts, and how is access removed when a volunteer or staff member moves on?
  • Records. Where are membership, giving, and attendance records kept, who can export them, and is there a backup that someone has actually tested?
  • Wi-Fi. Separate guest access from staff and office systems, and check coverage in the places people actually gather.
  • Office computers and shared files. Keep staff machines updated and files in one place instead of scattered across personal devices.
  • Printing. Bulletins, mailings, and office printing are easier when supplies and repairs have an owner; see Managed Print Services.
  • Phones. A main line that reaches the right person, voicemail that is checked, and a plan for events; see VoIP & Phone Services.
  • Giving and payments. Payment options can be discussed through Merchant Services. Confirm any provider’s terms for donation and nonprofit use directly with that provider.
  • Streaming and presentations. Plan the network capacity that live streaming or on-screen presentations need, and coordinate with your audio/video vendor on the network side.

Questions worth asking

  • Who owns the organization’s domain, email, and cloud accounts, and are those details written down somewhere other than one person’s memory?
  • Who can see donor and member data, and what happens to that access when someone leaves?
  • If a computer fails the week before a major event, who is called and how fast can work resume?
  • Which software vendors offer nonprofit pricing? Eligibility is confirmed with each vendor.
